2013 AIA Merit Design Award - American Institute of Architects
2012 Project of the Year – Commercial Walls – 2nd Place ATAS International, Inc.
Eureka Springs High School | Eureka Springs, Arkansas
Architect: Morrison Architecture, P.C. | General Contractor: Kinco Constructors, LLC
Metal Installer: A-Lert Roof Systems, a Division of Centurion Inc.
Project Manager: Ethan Buche
This project included the installation of almost 70,000 square feet of A-Lert standing seam roof panels, covering 20 different roofs with eave heights up to 42 feet. This included a 400 foot long corridor, nicknamed “Main Street”. A standing seam metal roof was the ideal system for this school for several reasons, namely its inherent ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions, the fact that design fit the customer’s vision of the school’s exterior scheme and the added benefit that the Galvalume Plus finish of the roof panels met Energy Star requirements.
In addition, A-Lert also installed approximately 40,000 square feet of wall panels in four different colors, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing exterior finish that fit the local style of the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas perfectly. Both vertical and horizontal wall panels were installed throughout, and transitions were achieved with the use of color matched trims.
